Surfshark Extends 7 Day Free Trial Across All Plans

Surfshark 7 day trial

Surfshark has confirmed to VPNCompare that it is extending its 7 day free trial across its full range of plans from 23rd October, widening an offer that has so far applied mainly to its core VPN subscriptions.

Surfshark says the change takes effect at 1pm Lithuanian time on 23rd October, which works out to around 11am in the UK. From that point, new customers signing up for any of Surfshark’s plans will be able to try the service free for a week before any payment is taken, rather than committing to a full subscription upfront.

Surfshark introduced its original 7 day free trial in 2025, becoming one of the first major VPN providers to offer a genuine week long trial across desktop and mobile devices, rather than limiting it to app store sign ups on phones.

At the time, it covered the company’s one and two year VPN plans. This latest expansion, confirmed directly by Surfshark, carries that same no commitment approach across the company’s wider plan lineup, which bundles in extras such as its Alternative ID identity tool, ad and tracker blocking, and antivirus protection depending on the tier chosen.

As with the existing trial, new users will need to enter payment details to sign up, confirming they have not held a Surfshark account before. The trial can be activated on up to three devices at once, and no charge is taken unless the week runs its course without the user cancelling. Surfshark’s 30 day money back guarantee continues to run alongside the trial for anyone who goes on to subscribe.

For readers who have been curious about Surfshark but reluctant to commit straight away, the wider trial offers a lower risk way to test server speeds, streaming performance and bundled extras before paying. VPNCompare’s full Surfshark review covers how the service performs across these areas in more depth.

Free trials remain relatively rare among VPN providers, most of which lean on money back guarantees instead. CyberGhost offers a trial of just 24 hours on Windows and Mac, extending to three days on Android and seven on iOS, while NordVPN has generally restricted its own trial to new Android users. A trial covering Surfshark’s whole plan range, on any device, would put it ahead of most of that field.

Surfshark had not updated its public terms page to reflect the wider rollout at the time of writing, so anyone planning to use the trial should still check the exact conditions, including the cancellation deadline and which plans qualify, once it goes live on 23rd October.
