Today, we will show you how to cancel your VPN subscription at a well-known VPN provider, HideMyAss.
HideMyAss is one of the most popular VPN providers with a name everyone has heard of, but even so, it is not among our favourites, and we believe that other providers are better and more worthy of your subscription.
That doesn’t mean that it is a lousy VPN, of course, but we all have our preferences.
So, whether you are a new or a long-term HideMyAss user, and you want to cancel your subscription – here is what you need to do.
Stop HideMyAss billing
The first thing you must do is prevent HideMyAss from billing you further. There are two different scenarios in which you might find yourself.
1) Within 30 days
If it has been less than 30 days since the original purchase of the plan, you are in luck, as you can still get your money back.
HideMyAss has a 30-day money-back guarantee which you can use to get a refund. The first thing to do is to cancel your subscription, which you can do in your HMA account.
Log into the HideMyAss website VPN control panel, and you will find ‘Cancel Subscription‘. That way, you will stop them from billing you again, while your existing subscription will last until your license expires.
You’ll also need to request a refund as it doesn’t happen automatically. For this, you’ll need to visit their Support section and ‘Submit a request‘.
2) After 30 days
If it has already been longer than 30 days since the moment of purchase, you are not entitled to a refund anymore.
However, you can still cancel your subscription in the same way, and wait for it to expire.
Cancel if you bought through Google Play
If you purchased your HMA subscription via Google Play, then that is where you must go to cancel it, as well.
Log into the Play Store, go to Menu, and then locate My subscriptions or Subscriptions. From there, find HideMyAss and click Cancel Subscription is pretty much all you need to do.

Google will provide you with all the necessary instructions that you will need to follow, so follow the instructions, and your subscription will be cancelled.
Cancel if you bought through Apple App Store
If you are an iOS user, on the other hand, your HideMyAss VPN subscription needs to be handled within the Apple App Store.
The process is simple enough, and you should start by accessing the iTunes & App Store. Select your Apple ID and choose the option to view it. After signing in, scroll down to the ‘Subscription section’, find the one you need, and hit ‘Cancel Subscription‘.
From that point on, your subscription won’t automatically renew itself, while the current one will allow you to still use HMA until the date it runs out.
Why should you reconsider cancelling?
If you wish to cancel your HMA subscription, we understand.
