If you’re a fan of cricket, then you probably know about the legendary history between Pakistan and England, and how their teams clashed time and time again.

Well, the great news is that Pakistan’s team is once again touring England this May and that they will play five One Day Internationals, and one Twenty20 International, which will come before the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

The bad news is that the broadcast of the Tour will be difficult to watch without an expensive cable subscription.

However, there is a way to watch online without cable TV and below I’ll be showing you how.

Where is the Tour being shown?

As you can imagine, in the UK, the Tour will be reserved for expensive cable networks, such as Sky.

Premium sports always end up on subscription services these days. It’s just the way of the world.

Other countries will get to see it as well, via cable subscription, which can also be expensive, and if you don’t already have a subscription, your choices for streaming the cricket basically don’t exist.

However, in India, the Tour will be broadcast on Sony LIV for free, and below we will explain how you can unlock this and watch it from anywhere in the world.

What you need to watch the Tour

You may or may not know this, but accessing foreign content is very easy, even if it is geo-restricted, provided that you have the right tools.

A ‘VPN‘ app is the tool for this job, as it can unblock any content from anywhere in the world thanks to large networks located in many different countries. By using one, you can change your location and access overseas content.

To watch the cricket, we recommend using ExpressVPN, which has servers in India, and it is also the fastest one you will find – perfect for live streaming the Tour.

Alternatively, you may also choose IPVanish and NordVPN, which should do the trick as well. The choice is ultimately yours.

There are hundreds of other options if you search Google but some are slow which can lead to buffering and other issues streaming live video. So it pays to choose wisely.

You will also have to choose a payment plan. VPN services don’t cost more than a few pounds or dollars per month and the longer you subscribe, the cheaper it is.

When is the tour taking place?

The Tour will start on May 5th. Luckily, you can do it within minutes, but still, make sure to do it beforehand.

As mentioned, May 5th will be the day of the England v Pakistan Twenty20 International match, which will start at 14:30 local time. The ODI series will hold multiple games, on May 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, and 19th.

Then, there will be several warm-up matches as part of the ICC Cricket World Cup, on May 24th and 26th.

Finally, the World Cup itself will start on May 31st. Both Pakistan and England will take part in this but they won’t always be facing each other.

What’s the Tour all about?

As with all sports, the excitement and good time are the most important parts of the tour, although the teams do not lack the motivation to win.

Pakistan will bring some of its best players, including Sarfraz Ahmed, Shaheen Afridi, Asif Ali. Mohammad Amir, and many others.

England will send Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, Tom Curran, Jos Buttler, Liam Plunkett, and more.

How does a VPN work?

A VPN’s primary concern is to provide its users with online security, privacy, and anonymity.

A useful side-effect is a fact that anonymity allows you to unblock geo-restricted and censored content.

This works by swapping your ‘IP address‘.

An IP Address is a set of numbers unique to your internet connection. Similar to a phone number it allows websites and services the ability to understand where you’re located.

This confuses online services and makes them believe you are located elsewhere.

Pakistan’s Tour of England will bring a lot of excitement to cricket fans, particularly since both countries are well-known for their professional, competitive teams.

Unfortunately, these matches are often restricted to cable services only but there is a quick and easy way to watch without cable.

To do it, employ a reliable VPN service, but make sure that it has decent speeds and servers in India.

We recommend ExpressVPN. Sign up for their service, download their app, connect to India and enjoy watching the full Tour.
