Liège-Bastogne-Liège takes place on Sunday, 22nd April 2018.
The race is expected to start from around 8:00 am CET which is 7:00 am UTC / BST in the UK. There'll be a bit of pre-race entertainment taking place before the actual event kicks off. You'll be able to tune in from around 12:30 pm UTC and watch live with the VPN from around the same time.
Liège-Bastogne-Liège is a one day cycling event which is considered one of the “classics”. Taking place in Belgium to route starts in the town of Liège, heads out to Bastogne and then loops around another route to finish back in Liège.
It's one of the premium cycling events of the year.
The race is often referred to as La Doyenne which translates to “The Old Lady” and as it first took place in 1892 it's clear to see where the name came from. More recently in 2017 a women's edition of the event was introduced.
If you're a fan of climbs then the Liège-Bastogne-Liège will definitely be right up your street as the course takes in many steep climbs making the event one of the toughest one-day cycling events.
Last year in 2017 the event was won by Spaniard Alejandro Valverde who has taken the title 4 times. Which is just short of the 5 victories held by Belgian Eddy Merckx who won 5 times in the late 1960's and mid 70's.
