VPN Providers that accept Alipay or UnionPay

Alipay UnionPay VPN

Finding a VPN provider that accepts Alipay or UnionPay can be quite difficult.

You would imagine as China is one of the locations that VPN use is massively required and Alipay and UnionPay are widely available there that more VPN providers would offer these payment systems.

Unfortunately, that isn’t the case and only a handful of decent VPN providers accept either Alipay, UnionPay or both.

So if you’re looking to spend RMB or use one of those payment systems I’ve done the legwork for you and been researching which VPN providers accept Alipay or UnionPay and given you a round-up so you can easily select one that is suitable for yourself and pay with a payment method convenient to you.

Just a quick note, if you’re looking for further providers who aren’t listed here then searching for VPN providers that accept ZhiFuBao would also be useful as it’s the Chinese name for Alipay.

1. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN Small Logo

Pros

  •  Software for Windows & Mac.
  •  Apps for Android and iOS.
  •  30 day money back guarantee.
  •  Unlimited bandwidth.

ExpressVPN accepts both Alipay and UnionPay making them an ideal choice for anyone from China or elsewhere looking for a VPN service and wanting to pay with either payment method.

Having one of the largest selections of VPN server locations with over 78 countries covered makes them suitable for use from most countries. If they don’t have a server in your country then they certainly will have one close by.

Leading the way ExpressVPN offer a huge 30 day money back guarantee which means if you’re unhappy with the service then you can easily get your money back. With such a long guarantee it allows you to test the service over a good period of time to see how consistent it is.

If you’re new to VPN use then the 24 hour live help available from the ExpressVPN website is available to assist you with any questions you may have. This is great news if you’re a beginner as you won’t have to worry about getting stuck.

2. VPN.ac

VPN.ac Small Logo

 Pros

  •  Cheap annual package.
  •  Servers dedicated to China usage.

 Cons

  •  No iOS app.
  •  Limited server choice.

VPN.ac accept both Alipay and UnionPay and if you’re a Chinese user then their dedicated servers will help you bypass the Great Firewall of China.

Unfortunately, VPN.ac aren’t quite as big as ExpressVPN in terms of server locations available but they currently offer 15 good quality locations which are suitable for North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Easy to use software is available for Windows and Mac with an app for Android. If you’re after using the service with iOS in an easy manner then it’s best to stick with ExpressVPN as VPN.ac don’t currently have an iOS app available.

VPN.ac offer great speeds so if you’re nearby one of their server locations you should be able to get reasonable speeds.

3. TorGuard

TorGuard Small Logo

 Pros

  •  Software and apps for all systems.
  •  Ubuntu client.

 Cons

  •  Not the fastest VPN provider.

TorGuard accepts both Alipay and UnionPay making it a good choice like ExpressVPN and VPN.ac for those wanting to pay with these payment methods.

Although TorGuard doesn’t offer the fastest speeds they are mid range and similar to some other providers out there. If you’re after faster speed I recommend you stick with ExpressVPN.

Covering 42 different countries it makes TorGuard suitable for a wide range of locations. TorGuard would be especially good for China as they offer a StealthVPN service that aims to bypass the Great Firewall of China allowing you to access content that is otherwise usually blocked on the mainland.

TorGuard is one of very few providers that offer a Ubuntu client so if you want to get connected easily on a Linux system then there aren’t many other providers who directly support the system and TorGuard may make an ideal choice.

4. EarthVPN

EarthVPN Small Logo

 Pros

  •  Cheap prices.

 Cons

  •  Not as fast as some others.

EarthVPN accepts both Alipay and UnionPay.

They are one of the cheaper VPN providers if taking their basic package but add-ons that come as standard with other providers will cost you more.

EarthVPN offers decent speeds but they aren’t the fastest provider and while they have a good range of servers in over 32 countries they don’t have any dedicated modes for Chinese users. Getting access to EarthVPN in China may not be possible at all times.

Based in Northern Cyprus it makes EarthVPN technically an off-shore VPN provider as most jurisdictions don’t recognise Northern Cyprus as a country.

Past negative press about their server security in the Netherlands caused alarm when a student sent a bomb threat via one of their servers and was tracked down after the authorities went straight to the hosting provider calling into question how secure EarthVPN’s servers are.

If you’re not put off then check them out.

Other Providers

IBVPN, PureVPN and CactusVPN all accept Alipay only but do not accept UnionPay.

If you after paying with Alipay and you don’t fancy signing up to one of the earlier providers then it’s worth taking a look at what these three providers offer.

It’s difficult to find quality VPN providers that accept either Alipay or UnionPay but thankfully there is a handful of them available. Take a look through our suggested providers to see which suit your needs best but if you’re still unsure and undecided then my recommendation is to sign-up to ExpressVPN as you certainly won’t be disappointed.
