Highly rated VPN provider Overplay today announced the release of their first mobile clients.
VPN apps for both Android and iOS devices are now available and can be downloaded from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Overplay is regarded as one of the leading VPN providers in the industry and via our own testing is also confirmed as one of the fastest.
Although the provider itself is considered to offer one of the better services the lack of apps for mobile devices has left the service out of reach to many users of mobile phones and tablets.
The introduction opens the service up to a wide range of users.
Streamlined app suite
After recently releasing updated desktop clients for both Windows and Mac systems the apps follow the same streamlined approach and visually offer an experience identical to the desktop clients.
Upon launching the client users can connect without the need to interact with the app allowing new users the ability to protect their privacy with just one-touch.
More advanced users can choose between encryption modes including AES-256 (Secure), AES-128 (Fast) and No Encryption (Fastest).
The server selection list automatically speed tests servers allowing the sorting of the list by response time, city, country and servers.
Available on the server listing is a display showing how many servers are available in any given location and the server load.
Further options allow users to select the following automatic connection settings:
- Do not automatically connect
- Connect to last connected server
- Connect to fastest server
- Connect to fastest server in country
The apps run the OpenVPN protocol and allow altering between UDP and TCP modes and the ability to alter the connection port.
Although Overplay offers a highly rated VPN service the lack of mobile apps left it out of reach for many users but with the release of these new clients the service is now open to all users.
Overplay costs from $4.95 per month and offers both a SmartDNS only and VPN + SmartDNS service.
650 servers are available worldwide in more than 70 different locations across more than 50 individual countries.
The service keeps zero traffic logs and allows 3 simultaneous connections.
Users are able to switch servers and regions an unlimited amount of times and unlimited bandwidth is available.
Software is available for both Windows and Mac desktop systems and the newly released apps for Android and iOS allowing the service to be used on phones and tablets too.
