How to watch I’m a Celebrity 2016 abroad

Australian Jungle

It’s that time of year again, I’m a Celebrity is back for 2016 and in this guide I’m going to show you how you can keep up with all the action regardless of where you are in the world.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is one of the most popular TV shows and one that has stood the test of time. Back for the 16th time the jungle has an all star cast with some celebrities to look out for who should make for interesting viewing including comedian Joel Domment, Gogglebox TV star Scarlett Moffatt and numbers guru Carol Vorderman.

If you’re outside the UK and you’ve tried to watch I’m a Celebrity on ITV Player then you’ll know like me that you’re blocked from viewing.

The good news is there is a really simple way to avoid this block and watch from any country in the world.

So let’s find out how to watch I’m a Celebrity 2016 abroad.

How to watch I’m a Celebrity 2016 abroad

If you want to watch I’m a Celebrity 2016 then you’ll need to do so online on ITV Player.

The problem is if you visit ITV Player outside the UK then rather than be able to watch I’m a Celebrity you’ll be blocked from viewing with the following message.

ITV Player Blocked 2016

This is really disappointing especially if you’re living abroad or travelling.

Never fear though because there is a really simple way to avoid this block and watch from anywhere in the world.

To do this you’re going to need to sign up to a service called a Virtual Private Network or VPN for short.

A VPN is a piece of software or app that allows you to protect your online privacy and as part of this privacy it allows you to change your online location.

So let’s say for example you are in Australia. A VPN allows you to change your internet connection to show you’re in the UK. The ITV Player website now thinks you’re in the UK and so rather than blocking you you’ll be able to watch I’m a Celebrity.

Using a VPN is really simple and below I’ll show you where to get the best VPN service and how easy it is to use.

Where to get a VPN

In recent years online privacy has become big business so there are lots of choices when it comes to choosing a VPN service.

A good service should set you back around £4 – £8 per month depending on how long you sign up for. To watch all of I’m a Celebrity you’ll only need a 1-month service but if you sign up longer then the price will be cheaper.

To stream video requires a good VPN service and even though most of them cost the same they’re not all made the same.

I tested some of the better providers to see who worked best for streaming I’m a Celebrity 2016 abroad and found the following three to be the best options.

  1. IPVanish
  2. ExpressVPN
  3. StrongVPN

All you need to do is click on one of the three provider names above to visit their site or click the green button to visit my number 1 recommended provider.

Once you’ve signed up keep reading below and I’ll show you how easy it is to use the VPN to watch I’m a Celebrity 2016 abroad.

How to use the VPN

Using the VPN is really easy. With all three providers you can download software for Windows or Mac or apps for Android or iOS.

You can download the Windows and Mac software from the provider’s website or the app from the regular app store.

Once downloaded and installed, login and then connect to a United Kingdom server.

Once connected all you need to do is visit the ITV Player website and then you can watch either the catch-up or live I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Below I’ve put together a step-by-step guide to watch using IPVanish on a Windows PC but the process is much the same with the other providers and even easier when using the mobile or tablet apps.

IPVanish:

Visit the IPVanish website and sign-up.

Download the Windows software from the “apps” area of the website.

Install and run the software. Log in when prompted.

Select United Kingdom (1.) and press Connect (2.).IPVanish UK Server

The IPVanish software will now make connection to the UK.

Once it has connected any website you visit will think you’re in the UK and rather than block you with the message you saw earlier you’ll be able to stream I’m a Celebrity either live or on the catch-up service.

Now, get me out of heeeeerrreeeeeeee!
